Bassem Khalil Al-Salem was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors for Capital Bank Group since April 2011, which encompasses Capital Bank, National Bank of Iraq, and Capital Investments. He is also one of the founders of Capital Bank. In this role, Al-Salem has redirected Capital Bank’s attention toward a 21st century public, with particular emphasis on delivering innovative commercial and investment banking services to the Jordanian and Iraqi markets.

Al-Salem previously served as the Jordanian Minister of Labor and Minister of Finance consecutively (2005 – 2009). He is commended for introducing socioeconomic policies that have contributed toward the creation of jobs in both the public and private sectors, as well as attracting businesses and investments to Jordan, while helping homegrown businesses flourish.

In addition to his duties as chairman of the Capital Bank, Al-Salem is the chairman of Association of Banks in Jordan. He also currently sits on the board of several prominent private and publicly listed companies, including the General Mining Company and Royal Jordanian.

He has previously served as Chairman of King's Academy, Executive Chairman of the Social Security Corporation (2005 – 2009), Board Member at the Central Bank of Jordan, as well as a member of the Jordanian Senate (2010 – 2011).

He started his career in Jordan’s private sector, where he founded several manufacturing companies.

Said Samih Darwazah is the executive chairman of Hikma Pharmaceuticals, a leading multinational pharmaceutical group listed on the London Stock Exchange and part of the FTSE100 index, a post he has held since 2007.

Darwazah also serves as the chairman of the board of the Queen Rania Foundation, which works to improve national educational resources in Jordan as a means of furthering social development. He is the founder of the Health Care Accreditation Council, a non-profit organization that works to advance medical standards across the MENA region. Since 2016, Darwazah serves as the chairman of the board of Royal Jordanian, the country’s flagship airline.

Between 2003 and 2006, Darwazah held the post of Minister of Health in Jordan. He was also a board member in the Central Bank of Jordan from 2012 till 2021.

Darwazah has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in the USA, and an MBA from INSEAD, France.

‘Mohamed Ali’ Khaldoun Al-Husry represents Hitaf Investment Company on the board of Capital Bank. Al-Husry is the founder of Capital Bank and served as its chairman and chief executive officer from its establishment in 1995 to 2007. During his tenure at the bank, he is recognized for pioneering the launch of investment banking activities in Jordan.

Al-Husry currently serves as non-executive director for Hikma Pharmaceuticals.

He is also sits on the board of the MicroFund for Women.

Saleh Al-Shubeikat currently serves as the Head of Equity Portfolio Management Section at the Social Security Investment Fund, a position he has held since December 2020.

From March 2017 to December 2020, Shubeikat worked as a Senior Financial Analyst in the Business Development and Research Unit at the Social Security Investment Fund. Prior to that, he worked from June 2006 to March 2017 as a Financial Analyst at the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance in the Financial Markets Investment Center. During this time, he performed various tasks, including conducting stock research, valuation of companies, and strategic analysis. He also reviewed and analyzed the stocks portfolio to ensure compliance with internal investment policies, Central Bank regulations, and other relevant policies.

Additionally, he monitored the portfolio's performance, tracked daily sector weight changes, prepared regular market performance reports for the Amman Stock Exchange, built financial models for stock valuation, and developed systematic methodologies for strategic asset allocation that aligned with the bank's requirements (returns, risk tolerance, and limitations) and market expectations. Shubeikat is licensed by the Jordan Securities Commission as an Investment Manager, Financial Consultant, and Investment Trustee. He has completed numerous specialized training courses and programs related to assets, portfolios, financial reporting, and more.

Shubeikat holds a master’s degree in finance, Investment, and Risk from the University of Kent, United Kingdom (2012-2013), and a Bachelor's degree in Banking and Financial Sciences from Al-Zarqa University (2004-2006).

Mr. Khalil Hatem Al-Salem represents Al-Khalil Investments Company on the Board of Directors of the Capital Bank of Jordan. He is currently the Executive Vice President of Al Majal Business Park (Iraq Logistics Ventures). In this role, Mr. Khalil is responsible for the business development and financial growth of Al Majal Business Park in Basra.

Prior to that, Mr. Khalil was the Director of the Office of His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, where he supported the Prince's campaign to run for the position of Vice President of the International Football Association (FIFA) representing the continent of Asia. At the same time, he was the General Secretary of the Jordan Football Association, where he collaborated with the FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation to implement strict financial operating procedures to support the structure, strategy and operations of the Jordan Football Association. He currently represents the Secretary-General of the West Asian Football Association.

Mr. Khalil Al Salem started his career as a Financial Analyst at "JP Morgan" in New York, and then held the position of Business Development Manager at Al Mal Investment and Financial Brokerage Company. Mr. Khalil Al - Salem holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Columbia University.

Omar Shahrour represents the Investment and Integrated Industries Company on the board of Capital Bank.

Shahrour has over 20 years of financial management experience. He previously worked as chief financial officer at Nuqul Group, where he was responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and implementing financial processes and controls, as well as financial planning, auditing and investor relations.

H.E. Al Khoori was the Chairman of The National Investor Company, Khidma Company, Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and Aldar Properties Company , where he also held the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Waha Capital and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Senaat and Emirates Steel.

Youssef Ensour, currently a member of the Board of Directors of Capital Bank, has a long career in banking, during which he held many positions that enriched his banking experiences, most notably the position of the Regional Director (General Manager) of Bank Audi - Jordan Branches from 2006 until 2021.  He was also the Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking Department at Standard Chartered Bank from June 2004 to February 2006. He rose to various positions during his work at HSBC Bank Middle East from June 1997 to May 2004, he also worked at Amman Bank for Investments.

Lamya AlFozan is currently a Senior Director in the Saudi Public Investment Fund. AlFozan is a seasoned professional in Banking and Financial Markets with a Master’s degree from London Business School (LBS).

AlFozan serves as a member of a number of boards and board sub-committees most notably; the Saudi Industrial Development Fund Board Audit Committee, and an advisory board member at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. AlFozan has 17 Years of experience in the field of internal audit, risk management, compliance, financial crime prevention, project management, ESG practices, and corporate transformations, amongst others.

AlFozan has previously served as a Board Audit Committee Member in Riyad Capital, in addition to her role as Head of the Compliance in Riyad Bank from the period 2015 to 2019. Prior, AlFozan served in many roles in the same bank mainly in the Internal Audit Department, she also served as the Vice Chair of the Executive Level Ladies Enablement Committee in the Bank, she was also the designated Investment Committee Secretary.

Samer Al-Aloul was named as Group Chief Banking Officer at Capital Bank Group in March 2021, bringing with him more than two decades of diverse banking experience.

In his new post, Al-Aloul will oversee several key departments, including credit compliance, risk and remedial, to integrate them within the broad strategy of the group covering Capital Bank, the National Bank of Iraq and Capital Investments.

He will oversee the management and identification of different key risk factors that may face the group and laying down the appropriate strategy and controls to mitigate them.

Al-Aloul is a very active member on most of the bank's vital committees, including the management, credit, compliance, and risk committees, in addition to the assets & liabilities, investments, settlements, insurance, real estate and products committees, and a member of the board of directors at Société Générale Bank Jordan.

He also played a pivotal role in the group's successful acquisition of Bank Audi's branches and operations in Jordan and Iraq, as well as the successful acquisition of Société Générale Bank in Jordan. Izzidin Abusalameh is Capital Bank Group Chief Operating Officer. Abusalameh brings with him a wealth of experience in the financial sector. Previously, Abusalameh was the Chief Operating Officer at United Arab Bank in the United Arab Emirates, from June 2016 to July 2019.

Prior to joining the United Arab Bank, he was the General Manager of the Shared Services Center of Arab Bank PLC in Dubai, which provides Operations and Information Technology services to the bank’s branches in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Yemen besides his membership in the bank’s Global Information Technology Committee.

During the period from 2003 till 2013, Abusalameh served in Palestine with Cairo Amman Bank before he moved to the bank Head Quarter in Amman in 2009.

He began his banking career with ANZ Bank in 1995 where he held a number of positions including Country Operations Manager of the bank’s branches in Palestine, a post he continued to assume after the acquisition of ANZ Bank’s business by Standard Chartered in 2001 up to the end of 2002.

Abusalameh holds a Bachelor’s degree with distinction in English, which he obtained in 1994 from Yarmouk University in 1994, as well as an MBA with Honors from Birzeit University in 2005.

Yasser Kleib brings with him over 20 years of commercial and corporate development experience. He joined Capital Bank in 2004, when he began working at the Department of Banking and Credit Facilities. Prior to that, Kleib worked for eight years at Arab Bank.

Kleib earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Al-Yarmouk University. He holds the Certified Lender Business Banker (CLBB) certification from the American Bankers Association.

Nadeem Khitan, Chief Consumer Banking Officer at Capital Bank, plays a pivotal role in shaping our consumer banking division's strategic direction with his expertise in business planning, market research, and business development across various consumer industries.

He brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at the Bank of Jordan. Starting as Head of Segmentation, Studies, Products, and Marketing, he ascended to the role of Group Executive Manager - Head of Consumer Banking in 2022.

Rami Al Khuffash is the Chief Investments and Treasury Officer for Capital Bank Group, where he heads the group’s asset portfolio, develops funding strategies and plans, recommends investments and assigned assets to the board of directors.

Al Khuffash brings with him a wealth of experience in management, banking operations, corporate finance, treasury, risk management and recovery.

Prior to this post, he spent over two decades at Société Générale de Banque-Jordanie in positions spanning relationship manager and assistant head of the Corporate and Investment Banking Department, head of the Strategy and Marketing Department, head of the Risk Management Department, head of the Corporate and Treasury Department, assistant general manager and deputy general manager. Al Khuffash began his career at ANZ Grindlays Bank, which was ultimately acquired by Standard Chartered Bank.

Linda Tarazi is a passionate transformation executive with extensive experience in financial services across banks in the Middle East and the United Kingdom. In addition to her leadership role at Capital Bank she sits on the Board of the Directors of a prominent regional bank. Tarazi currently serves as Capital Bank Group’s Chief Transformation Officer – (DIFC), a role she took on in July 2022 to support the groups future growth aspirations.

Prior to joining the executive team at Capital Bank, she was an Executive Vice President of Wholesale Digital at Mashreq Bank in the UAE where she most recently led the bank’s digital transformation of the corporate and international banking segments in establishing a world class innovation studio modernizing coverage models and raising frontline productivity. Her tenure at Mashreq spanned fifteen years wherein she held several successful business transformation roles ranging from establishing the first build operate and transfer outsourcing practice in the region, leading operational transformations leveraging lean principals and digital capabilities as well as driving strategic commercial transformation priorities. Tarazi joined Citigroup UK at the start of her career as a management associate in the Global Transaction Banking space and later moved on to become an internal consultant advisor to this business.

Tarazi holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London.

Yosif Saptis currently serves as the Group Chief Human Resources and Shared Services Officer at Capital Bank and is a leading professional in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Governance, Board Relationships, Project Management, and Transformation in Banking Operations and Technology.

Saptis has over 30 years of experience in various leadership positions at renowned organizations such as Arab Bank, Nokia, Rio Tinto, Archirodon Construction, and Consolidated Contractors International Company.

At Arab Bank, Saptis served as the Senior Vice President and Head of HR Strategy & Planning for over a decade, where he played a vital role in designing and executing the bank's HR strategy. Yosif's extensive HR experience and ability to drive transformation in organizations have made him a sought-after expert in the field. Manar Al Nsour was appointed as Chief Financial Officer at Capital Bank in July 2016. In her role as CFO, Al Nsour is responsible for leading all strategic financial operations and supervising all aspects of the bank’s financial management, including financial reporting, financial planning and analysis and financial controls.

Al Nsour has more than 20 years of extensive experience in financial management and has held numerous management positions at Capital Bank, most recently as head of the Financial Control Department until mid-2016. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Jordan.

Rafat Khalil is the Chief Audit Executive for Capital Bank Group, where he is responsible for managing the bank’s internal audit function to ensure efficiency and compliance with international internal audit standards.

Khalil has extensive experience spanning more than 30 years in the banking sector and a proven track record at Capital Bank and its subsidiaries, where he previously served as the chief internal audit executive and chief support officer at Capital Bank and chief control officer at the National Bank of Iraq. Before that, Khalil worked with Oman Arab Bank as chief audit executive and with the Central Bank of Jordan as both internal auditor and the head of the Internal Organization Department.

Khalil graduated with honors from Yarmouk University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He holds a certificate as a certified bank auditor (CBA) from the Banking Business Institute in Chicago, and a certified internal control auditor (CICA) and he is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors in Chicago and the World Union of Arab Bankers. He frequently attends specialized training workshops in auditing, risk management and corporate governance

Mohammed Mu’az was appointed as the Head of the Legal Department and in-house legal counsel at Capital Bank in March 2003.

In this capacity, he is responsible for the legal operations and legislative affairs of the bank, including corporate governance, regulatory aspects, litigation, execution, consultation and documentation.

Mu’az joined Capital Bank family from Arab Bank, where he worked in the International Division of its Legal Department for two years. Prior to that, he practiced law at Dajani & Associates Law Firm for five years.

He has been the member of Jordanian Bar Association since 1997.

Mu’az earned his bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Jordan. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in international law and a Master of Laws in commercial law from Staffordshire University, United Kingdom.

Since 2021, Touleen Barto has served as Capital Bank’s Chief Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer, a role that sees her leading and overseeing the development and implementation of the bank’s marketing and communications strategy.  

Throughout her career which spanned over 22 years, Barto has held positions at leading banking institutions and telecommunications companies in Jordan. For eight years, beginning in 2012, she was the brand and communications director for Orange Jo, where she managed the creative, media, direct marketing, social media, digital, brand and sponsorship divisions and through her work, was able to successfully alter the brand’s perception. Prior to that, between 2010 and 2012, Barto was the head of the marketing, corporate communications and corporate sustainability divisions at HSBC Jordan. She began her career at Fastlink, which later became Zain Jordan, where she held a number of posts that culminated in her being named brand and communications manager for eight years. Also during her tenure, she successfully established the company’s first youth division, which has become recognized for launching initiatives are being used as best practices across Zain Group.

Barto received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Jordan, and a Master’s in Advertising and Marketing from the University of Leeds Business School in the United Kingdom, and regularly takes part in conferences, workshops and seminars related to her field, both locally and internationally.
