Capital Bank Hosts Fifth Annual Chess Championship
Ali Abu Swai, Group Chief Treasurer and Head of the Social Committee at Capital Bank honored this year’s winners of the Capital Bank’s fifth Annual Chess Championship. The tournament, supervised by the Jordanian Royal Chess Federation, concluded with Tawfiq Shoubash taking first place, Ahmed Khairy securing second place, and Suleiman Maayah coming in third.
Eighteen employees participated in the championship, which was marked by enthusiastic and intense competition. They played using the Swiss system, featuring nine rounds, with each player having 20 minutes per game.
At the award ceremony, Abu Swai highlighted the importance of such events in fostering positive competition among employees and building strong relationships that enhance the bank's overall performance. He expressed pride in the high level of skills displayed by the participants.
Since 2019, Capital Bank has organized this championship to strengthen social bonds and team spirit among employees outside the formal work environment, positively impacting the bank's overall performance.
