Capital Bank Supports Training Workshop to Empower Visually Impaired Individuals in Podcast Production
Capital Bank has sponsored a specialized training workshop on podcast production for individuals with visual impairments, in collaboration with the Cultural Forum for the Blind.
The workshop aimed to equip 15 young men and women with the technical skills and knowledge required to produce high-quality podcast content. Participants received comprehensive training covering all aspects of podcasting, from content planning and scriptwriting to recording, editing, and digital distribution. The program included 18 hours of intensive training, featuring 12 accredited hours and six hours of hands-on experience in professional recording studios. Led by industry experts, the workshop provided an inclusive and supportive learning environment tailored to the needs of visually impaired participants.
Touleen Barto, Chief Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer at Capital Bank emphasized the bank’s commitment to fostering equal opportunities and empowering individuals with disabilities. “True empowerment begins with creating avenues that allow individuals to harness their potential and contribute meaningfully to society. Our support for this training initiative is part of Capital Bank’s broader social responsibility efforts to promote sustainable and effective inclusion of visually impaired individuals,” she stated.
Barto further highlighted that beyond technical skill development, the workshop aimed to offer participants a platform for self-expression, enabling them to share their stories, voice their concerns, and build confidence as active contributors to their communities.
The Cultural Forum for the Blind, established in 1995, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for visually impaired individuals by eliminating barriers to accessibility and raising awareness about the importance of mobility aids such as the white cane. The organization also focuses on empowering individuals of all ages, including children, youth, and women, by providing essential resources and training programs to support their social and professional integration.
