Capital Bank Renews its Partnership with Queen Rania Foundation to Support Educational and Financial Literacy Programs
As part of its ongoing commitment to education and community development, Capital Bank has announced the renewal of its partnership with Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development. This renewed collaboration seeks to promote a culture of reading among Jordanian youth through “Read” program, which aims to establish libraries in public schools and equip them with a curated selection of age-appropriate and interest-driven children's literature.
The “Read” program further includes specialized training for teachers and librarians on delivering interactive library sessions that encourage student engagement with narrative texts and foster a lifelong love of reading. The initiative employs dynamic and enjoyable pedagogical methods designed to integrate seamlessly with classroom learning. Under the renewed agreement, 13,000 children's books will be distributed to participating schools to enhance access to reading materials and support in-class learning.
The partnership extends to supporting the Edraak platform, an online education initiative focused on training and community empowerment. The platform provides free access to foundational financial literacy training aimed at enabling individuals to become more self-reliant and productive. A specialized program, comprising three online courses, will cover core topics including personal finance fundamentals, budgeting and saving strategies, as well as investment principles and long-term financial planning. The program also incorporates essential financial concepts tailored for entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals.
Designed with flexibility, the courses allow participants to progress at their own pace and include 1.5 to 2 hours of recorded content, complemented by live virtual sessions that emphasize practical application and foster collaborative discussion.
Commenting on the renewed partnership, Touleen Barto, Chief Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer at Capital Bank, stated, “This collaboration builds on a history of successful joint efforts and underscores Capital Bank’s firm commitment to supporting impactful educational and developmental programs across Jordan. It reflects our belief in the essential role the private sector plays in preparing an empowered and educated generation capable of meeting future challenges.”
Barto further emphasized that the bank’s continued support for the Queen Rania Foundation aligns with its broader mission of enabling individuals and fostering more informed and sustainable communities. “This partnership serves as a model for effective collaboration between the private sector and civil society, creating meaningful and measurable outcomes for youth and young adults,” she added.
