Capital Bank Wins Two Prestigious Awards, “Most Innovative Digital Bank Jordan” And “Best Bank Jordan” from CFI.co Awards
The CFI.co Awards recognized Capital Bank’s excellence with two awards, Most Innovative Digital Bank Jordan, and Best Bank Jordan.
Capital Bank’s digital bank, Blink, was celebrated for its top performance as a state of the art digital bank that empowers customers to break free from traditional banks by providing them with a seamless and convenient digital experience.
For Capital Bank, this ever-growing commitment to serving customers, financial inclusion and digital innovation was the key in introducing Blink, a digital bank that was officially launched in February of 2022 and provides services through a smart digital platform. Blink was curated to cater to salaried clients, young individuals, housewives, university students, and other segments with limited or no access to banking services.
Along with Blink, Capital Bank was also recognized for its commitment to its local and regional expansion strategy. Locally, Capital Bank serves its growing customer base through innovative banking solutions and an expansion strategy that saw it acquire both Bank Audi in Jordan and Iraq, as well as Société Générale de Banque - Jordanie within a year. The bank also issued Tier 1 perpetual bonds valued at $100 million in 2022, which were listed at NASDAQ Dubai. Furthermore, Capital Bank Group increased its capital through the issuance of 63 million shares in favor of the Saudi Public Investments Fund (PIF), one of the largest funds in the world, with a 23.97% share, the equivalent of JOD131.2 million, thus bringing in PIF as a strategic investor in the group.
These bold milestones, coupled with an organic growth trajectory in its operational portfolio, have translated into an increase in the bank’s assets to around JD7 billion and a spike in total equity reaching JD 653 million, demonstrating Capital Bank’s commitment to continuing the implementation of its long-term strategy.
Capital Bank’s regional expansion was also translated into it being a major shareholder in the National Bank of Iraq (NBI), and establishing a number of wholly-owned subsidiaries in Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. NBI recently established a presence in Saudi Arabia targeting corporate clients, a first of its kind for an Iraqi bank operating in the private sector and one that will support trade relations between Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Jordan and strengthen trade exchange among the three countries.
Capital Bank has also invested heavily in digital innovation, partnering with world-renowned banking solutions providers and digital application developers to deliver innovative services and unique offerings coupled with the highest levels of personalization, efficiency and safety.
The Most Innovative Digital Bank Jordan and Best Bank Award Jordan awards highlight Capital Bank’s commitment to excellence and its position as a top performer in the Jordanian and regional banking sectors. The awards were given after meeting a stringent set of criteria including the critical eye of a collective 170 years of business journalism, corporate leadership and academia alongside the exhaustive information gathering conducted by the award body's own research team.
