Capital Bank and “Sports for Charity” Host Employee Sports Event to Support Underprivileged Children's Education

In collaboration with “Sports for Charity” initiative operated by Al Hadaf, a nonprofit organization, Capital Bank organized a sequence of sporting events and activities for its employees, including badminton and padel competitions. This initiative combined the prioritization of employee health and well-being with support for educational programs that benefit underprivileged children.

The competition drew high levels of participation and strong engagement from employees and were filled with enthusiasm and good sportsmanship. The competition also helped strengthen communication among teams and encouraged employees to participate in activities that connect positive workplace engagement with community service, using sport as a way of supporting humanitarian and educational causes.

The events were organized in partnership with “Sports for Charity,” a humanitarian initiative that uses sporting activities to support community-based initiatives. The proceeds generated through participation in events are then given to development and charitable projects that create a meaningful and sustainable impact in the lives of different beneficiaries.

Touleen Barto, Chief Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer at Capital Bank, commented on the initiative and said that the initiative reflects the Bank’s belief that social responsibility goes beyond providing support and includes engaging employees in activities that promote their well-being while actively enabling meaningful contribution to the community.

Barto added that the strong turnout and enthusiasm shown by employees throughout the competitions highlighted the value they place on activities that promote health and well-being while making a meaningful contribution to the community. She noted that the partnership with “Sports for Charity” provided a distinctive model for using sport to support educational and humanitarian causes, turning participation in sporting activities into a genuine opportunity to help build a better future for children.

The proceeds generated from these events will be given to an educational program targeting underprivileged children and children who are unable to read and write. The program aims to equip them with basic literacy skills, broaden their opportunities to continue their education, and help them build a better future.
