Capital Bank Sponsors 2019 Aqaba ASTC Triathlon Asian Cup

Capital Bank has announced its sponsorship of the 2019 Aqaba ASTC Triathlon Asian Cup, which was held under the patronage of HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee, at Ayla Oasis in Aqaba. A total of 200 athletes representing 36 countries from around the world participated in the event.

Capital Bank has also sponsored the official luncheon, which was organized by the Jordan Triathlon Association to honor partners and sponsors.

By sponsoring the 2019 Aqaba ASTC Triathlon Asian Cup, which is an event listed on the International Triathlon Union and Asian Triathlon Confederation (ASTC), Capital Bank has reiterated its support to the efforts made by the Jordan Triathlon Association toward achieving key milestones in sports that are in line with the aspirations of HRH Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein to support Jordanian sports and athletes, promote Jordan’s capabilities in organizing world-class sports events, and stress the importance of triathlon in Jordan.  

Capital Bank also shares the vision of the Jordan Triathlon Association with regards to placing Jordan on the international sports arena and promoting Aqaba as a global sports hub for athletes and enthusiasts alike.

Isam Samara, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Capital Bank, stressed the importance of the 2019 Aqaba ASTC Triathlon Asian Cup for the tourism and sports sectors in Jordan, saying that Capital Bank pays great attention to the role of sports as a catalyst for development and a way to promote a culture of fair play, excellence and healthy competition.

Samara noted that Capital Bank believes in the benefits of having a physically active workforce and encourages its employees to adopt a healthy lifestyle, which positively reflects on their physical and mental well-being. Tariq Khayyat, President of the Jordan Triathlon Association, praised the support provided by Capital Bank to the 2019 Aqaba ASTC Triathlon Asian Cup, which showcases Capital Bank’s continuous support to sports and youth in Jordan. According to Khayyat, the 2019 Aqaba ASTC Triathlon Asian Cup attracted considerable attention and the participation of six professional athletes from Jordan and many others from abroad.

Capital Bank’s CEO, Alaa Qumsieh, along with five teams from Capital Bank, participated in the Amateur Triathlon race after receiving bank-sponsored specialized training for more than two months.
