Capital Bank Renews Its Annual Partnership with Tkiyet Um Ali
As per the agreement, Capital Bank will sponsor 10 disadvantaged families that are currently living under the food poverty line in various governorates for one year, with a food package delivered to them each month. In addition, each year Capital Bank team members are on hand to serve hot meals to fasting citizens at Tkiyet Um Ali’s Amman headquarters during the holy month of Ramadan. However, this year, due to the restrictions on mass gatherings in place because of the coronavirus pandemic, food packages and hot iftar meals were distributed to family homes instead.
The renewal of the agreement between Capital Bank and Tkiyet Um Ali is a pivotal part of the bank’s CSR framework that includes the support of groups and initiatives that are in line with its beliefs of fighting hunger and poverty throughout the Kingdom, principles that Tkiyet Um Ali embodies.
Capital Bank sees great value in the humanitarian mission of Tkiyet Um Ali, an institution that works tirelessly to eradicate hunger through the distribution of food packages, an undertaking that is even more necessary because of the difficult current conditions in Jordan. Through this renewed partnership, Capital Bank will continue its contribution to achieving sustained food security in the country.
Tkiyet Um Ali delivers monthly sustained food support to 30,000 families living under the food poverty line throughout all the Kingdom’s governorates, reaching 150,000 individuals each year. Food packages contain 24 food materials that fulfil a family’s nutritional needs for an entire month and are delivered all year round.
