Capital Bank Renews Main Sponsorship of the “Seven Mountains” Initiative for the Second Consecutive Year
Capital Bank has announced the renewal of its main sponsorship of the “Seven Mountains” initiative for the second consecutive year, underscoring its strong commitment to supporting humanitarian and community initiatives that make a meaningful and lasting impact on people’s lives.
Launched in 2017 by Louay Shomali, the initiative aims to raise funds and mobilize support for the treatment of children on waiting lists at the King Hussein Cancer Center. This is achieved through organizing mountain-climbing expeditions undertaken by students and volunteers, including students from the International School of Choueifat, in a symbolic experience that reflects the challenges and hardships faced by cancer patients throughout their treatment journey.
Touleen Barto, Chief Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer at Capital Bank, expressed the bank’s pride in continuing its support for the initiative for a second year, noting that this decision stems from Capital Bank’s belief in its role in empowering the community and backing initiatives with genuine humanitarian impact. She added that the partnership reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting the healthcare sector, highlighting the spirit of resilience and determination among Jordanian youth, and supporting the King Hussein Cancer Center in carrying out its noble humanitarian mission.
Commenting on the partnership, the initiative’s founder, Louay Shomali, praised Capital Bank’s continued support, emphasizing that it represents a key pillar in expanding the initiative’s reach and strengthening its ability to engage a wider segment of society. He noted that this collaboration serves as a strong example of the private sector’s role in supporting youth-led initiatives and transforming them into impactful platforms that support patients and promote a culture of social solidarity.
To date, the “Seven Mountains” initiative has raised more than USD 814,000 in support of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center. These efforts have directly contributed to the treatment of underprivileged patients, increased public awareness of the challenges faced by cancer patients, and highlighted the vital role of youth in creating meaningful and sustainable humanitarian impact.
