In celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, and as a way to show appreciation and respect to the elderly as an important part of the society’s fabric, and in implementation of the Bank’s social responsibility programs, a group of Capital Bank employees visited, on Thursday 17 October, beneficiaries of the Golden Age Home for the Elderly, established by the White Beds Society.
During the visit, the Bank’s employees held numerous recreational activities that brought joy and happiness to the hearts of the elderly. The employees then distributed blankets to the elderly in preparation for the winter.
This volunteering initiative by Capital Bank employees comes as a token of gratitude to the elderly at the Golden Age Home, and in recognition of their invaluable contributions and selfless sacrifices for their families and community.
The initiative also comes in recognition of the efforts made by the White Beds Society, which was founded in 1971, to establish the Golden Age Home in 1979 as the first elderly home in Jordan.
In August, Capital Bank announced the launch of its CSR Volunteering Club in an effort to encourage employees to participate in the Bank’s social and humanitarian initiatives. The platform was launched to provide employees with the opportunity to fulfill their roles as ambassadors working to spread and promote the culture of volunteering, both internally and externally.
