Capital Bank CEO Ala Qumsieh and members of the bank’s team served an iftar organized by Tkiyet Um Ali at its headquarters, in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan and as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.
The strategic partnership agreement between Capital Bank and Tkiyet Um Ali, which was signed five years ago, has seen the bank provide financial and material support to Tkiyet Um Ali, as well as participation by bank team members in extending a helping hand to those less fortunate through iftars and delivering food packages.
Commenting on the occasion, Capital Bank CEO Ala Qumsieh said, "Capital Bank greatly appreciates the immense efforts by Tkiyet Um Ali to ensure a basic acceptable standard of living for the less fortunate. We aim to reinforce and support these efforts so that the organization is able to continue its work and assistance to achieve its objective of providing sustainable food support and fighting poverty throughout the Kingdom."
Qumsieh went on to add, "The objectives of Tkiyet Um Ali are in line with the bank’s CSR strategy, which includes contributing to building an effective society and achieving sustainable and comprehensive development by launching, adopting and supporting targeted campaigns and initiatives. At Capital Bank, we also work to reinforce a culture of voluntary work among our team members, aiming to motivate them to serve the local community in order to garner a genuine sense of loyalty for the communities in which we operate."
Tkiyet Um Ali is the first initiative of its kind in the Arab world that works to combat hunger. It is also the first non-governmental organization that provides sustainable food support through food packages, hot meals, humanitarian and food assistance to the poor and needy in Jordan. Tkiyet Um Ali was established in 2003 by Her Royal Highness Haya Bint Al-Hussein.
