Banker Middle East magazine has named Capital Bank the best bank in Jordan in the small and medium company category. The honor, which was bestowed on Capital Bank, was part of the magazine's 2016 annual awards that are dedicated to the banking and finance sector.
General Manager Haytham Kamhiyah received the award on behalf of Capital Bank at a glittering ceremony in Dubai. The event, organized annually by Banker Middle East, was attended by more than 400 senior businessmen, bankers and financial experts from around the region, in addition to members of the local and international media.
At the ceremony, Kamhiyah said, "We are proud to win this award, which has crowned Capital Bank's achievements as part of an integrated system adopted last year to support small and medium companies. This comes as part of the bank's strategy to support this sector in manner that will achieve concrete growth in the national economy. This award is the fruit of our continuous efforts to provide the best banking services to this vital sector."
He indicated that Capital Bank always endeavors to provide specialized and exclusive tools to serve the small and medium enterprise sector, including financing fixed assets, sales in return for transferring government and private dues, sales in return for payment checks, overdraft protection and housing. These efforts have contributed to the growth of facilities granted to this sector by around 48 percent in 2015, which is the highest growth among the local banks.
He added that entrepeneurs can now receive initial funding for their projects through Capital Bank within 72 hours for specialized programs and receive financing equivalent to 70 percent of the project's total cost.
He stressed that Capital Bank's win of this special award constitutes an incentive for it to continue its work and to entrench its position as a leader in the provision of exclusive and exceptional banking services in the industrial, commercial and vocational fields categorized under the small and medium companies sector, particularly in view of the increasing demand on facilities and the rising number of clients in this category.
Capital Bank is distinguished in its focus on industrial borrowing and renewable energy loans as its contribution to these vital investments and, in turn, supporting the national economy, adopting a pivotal role in support of these sectors.
